What do I need to know?

When do I get my number?
Numbers and timing chip will be ready for collection on Friday from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm and again on Saturday morning from 6.30 am to 8.30 am in the Marquee at the Start Line the Seafront Ballyvaughan

If you have chosen for postage option when booking, you will receive by post prior to event

Are the marathons all on road?
The MINI is all road.
The HALF is part road and part cross country(across the Burren).
The FULL is part road and part cross country(across the Burren).
If I enter but cannot take part on the day, is my entry fee refundable?
No
What are the cut off times?
8 hours
Can I transfer to another event e.g. From Full Marathon to Half Marathon?

Yes, you can transfer to another event, up until May 23rd. After that date, it is too late. Please email with any changes info.clareburrenmarathonchallenge.com

Can I give my number to another participant?

Absolutely not

What does my entry fee include?
The entry fee covers:

  • Race Times for all participants
  • Parking
  • Race entry
  • Water, refreshments and aid stations along the routes
  • T-Shirt
  • Finishers medal
  • Soup and a roll served after you finish your challenge
Can I drive to the start?
Yes. Parking options 5min walk from start line in Ballyvaughan. Stewards will direct you on the morning. Parking at own risk.
Are there mile markers?
Yes.
Where are the water and food stations?
There are water stations approx every 4 miles.
What do I get at the finish?
A medal, Soup and a roll and a sense of complete euphoria for all participants. Our event is about challenging yourself … we do not give prize money, all participants receive the same goodies during and at the end of the challenge.
Are there age limits?
Yes, over 16 years on the full and half routes. Mini/10k open to all.
Are ipods and MP3 players banned?
No
What type of footwear should I wear?
Comfortable walking or running shoes, trainers or boots.
What time do I need to get to the start?
Before 8.30am. All the events start together at exactly 9am on the pier at Ballyvaughan, so allow enough time to get parked. Some road closures will be in operation from 8am.
Will I be able to follow the routes?
All routes will be well signed posted and event stewards will be manning all routes to help.
Can I enter on the day?
We can not guarantee entry after May 23rd, if we have availability, yes you can if it is sold out we will not take entry on the day.
Is the event run for a charity?
We do not choose any one charity, we host the event, this way all charities can get a group together, enter to take part and have the same opportunity to raise as much as possible by taking part in the event.
Can I use the event to raise money for my charity?
Yes, you can walk, jog or run your chosen event for your favourite charity you can do it individually or as a team.
Can I wear my charities t-shirt on the day?
Yes
